Education and Prevention

As cancer involves serious risks and brings about high costs and many sufferings, its prevention is of great importance.
Therefore, cancer preventive measures are among Rahe Aseman Foundation’s main goals and programs.
To achieve this goal, by forming an Education and Prevention Committee under the Health Management Department, teams of experienced educators – such as physicians, psychologists, experts, nutritionists, and midwives - have been organized to educate the target groups.
Target groups include students, the elderly and retirees, executive personnel, industry workers & staff, religious associations, and other social strata.

Diagnostic measures

nuclear medicine and nuclear medicine are tow important program for cancer prevention

nuclear medicine

Since early detection of cancer is the most important factor in the effectiveness and success of its treatment, and on the other hand imaging equipment is an indispensable facility in this sector, therefore, as the first step to provide diagnostic services, Rahe Aseman Foundation has purchased, equipped, put into operation, and is managing one of the most advanced nuclear medicine centers in the country.
At this center, which has been launched by benevolent people, the entire imaging services are performed with the aid of radiopharmaceuticals, and all the diagnostic services are offered to cancer patients free of charge.

Screening

Screening is another important program for cancer prevention and early detection.

With this end in view, teams of educators, in their programs, conduct self-care training as well as target groups examinations.

Assistance & Supportive Services

Psychology
With the aid of some experienced volunteer psychologists, and in order to alleviate the mental and psychological crises caused by cancer, Rahe Aseman’s “Psychology Unit”, under the umbrella of Social Services Management Department, provides psychological counseling to cancer patients and to their families, both individually and in groups, from the onset of the illness throughout the course of treatment and rehabilitation.
Academic
As engaging with cancer seriously lowers the academic performance of student patients or of cancer patients’ student children, the Foundation's Social Services Management Department supervises these students’ academic status, identifies the problems, and-through collaboration with experienced and volunteer teachers and setting up private & compensatory classes-prevents such academic underachievement.
Community Happiness
In order to increase happiness and hope among the patients and their family members, Rahe Aseman Foundation organizes and holds, in various occasions, exhilarating and amusing programs such as health festivals, birthday parties for the patients’ children, variety shows, pilgrimage tours, recreational camps and excursions in nature.
Livelihood
Due to the high costs of cancer treatment, cancer affliction would drive even middle-income families into livelihood difficulties. Therefore, the Foundation’s “Assistance Department” compensates for some of these shortages through identifying their needs and donating to them aid packages, which contain staple foods such as rice, oil, meat, poultry, eggs and dairy products.
Rehabilitation
In order to rehabilitate patients during treatment and after recovery, they are provided with necessary services, free of charge, through referring them to rehabilitation centers or sending rehabilitation experts to their homes.
Provision of Medication and Treatment
One of the most expensive parts of cancer treatment is to cover patients’ medication and treatment costs. With this end in view, the Foundation’s “Assistance Department” keeps files on all diagnosed patients as well as those who refer or are referred to the Foundation, and based on the level of their needs, pay for a significant portion of their treatment and medication expenses.

Even more in this regard, in accordance with our agreements with other authorized and accredited charitable societies, institutions and foundations - such as Mahak, Mehraneh Zanjan and Reza (AS) of Mashhad - referrals are made and such patients are provided with needed medical care and treatment services free of charge.
